This summary doesn't replace the full policy below.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how the operator of OneToolSite ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use onetoolsite.com. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where they apply to us.
2. Files you use in our tools
Our PDF, image, document and calculator tools run inside your web browser. Files you open in them, and the figures you type, are processed on your own device and are not sent to or stored by us.
3. Information we collect
Business listing applications. When you apply to list a business we collect the business details you enter (name, category, description, address, phone, website, email, ABN, opening hours, service areas) and your own contact details (name, email and optionally phone). We also record when you accepted our Listing Terms and a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address, which we can't turn back into the original address.
Technical information. Like all websites, our hosting provider's servers automatically log technical details of each visit, such as internet address, browser type, pages requested and the time. We use this to keep the site running and secure and to stop abuse, such as spam.
Admin login. Only the site operator logs in. The admin area uses a single cookie that keeps the operator signed in. Visitors don't receive it.
4. How we use your information
- To review, publish, update and manage business listings.
- To contact you about your listing, including to confirm details or tell you about changes to our terms or fees.
- To tell you about paid listing options and other services we offer. You can opt out of these messages at any time.
- To prevent spam, fraud and misuse of the site.
Business details you choose to make public (such as business name, phone, website and email) appear on your listing for anyone to see.
5. Disclosure, including overseas
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, such as our web hosting provider, or where the law requires it.
Our website is hosted by HostGator, whose servers may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored overseas.
6. Third-party services on our pages
Some pages load content from other companies, which may receive your internet address and browser details when you use them:
- Google Fonts and public code libraries (cdnjs, jsDelivr) that make the pages and tools work.
- YouTube, only when you press play on a video. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
- OpenStreetMap, when you open the map in a traffic incident.
- Links to other websites, such as Google Maps, road authorities, news sites and listed businesses. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
If we add analytics or advertising in future, we'll update this policy first and explain any cookies they use.
7. Security and how long we keep information
We store listing information on our hosting account, protected by HTTPS, access controls and two-step login for the admin area. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. We keep listing information while the listing is active and for a reasonable time afterwards, then delete it. Rejected applications are deleted periodically.
8. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have your listing and information deleted. Contact us through the listing form with a note saying what you need. We'll reply to the email address you give. We'll respond within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first and we'll try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version will appear on this page with a new date.
